Attention 9th-11th Graders and Parents/Guardians - Our annual Recognition Day was unfortunately canceled due to the shutdown of school this past March. The Junior Class Officers, IT Department, Guidance Counselors, Teachers, and Administrators still wanted to recognize our students for their hard work and efforts from this past year. Even though our recognition program may look different this year, we worked very hard to honor our students! Current SNAP and TANF EBT Cardholders can check their card balance by calling 1-888-328-7366 or using www.connectebt.com. • Free and reduced eligible school-aged students that are not SNAP/TANF or those receiving SNAP or TANF that became eligible for free or reduced-price meals after May 20, 2020, while P-EBT cards are being mailed and should be received by the end of June 2020.

The school lunch program will conclude on Thursday, June 4. No lunches will be served on Friday, June 5. Our summer lunch program will begin on Monday, June 8 and will run from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. This will be a brown bag lunch/breakfast.

Middle & High School Parents: My apologies for the early morning call but I need to clarify that this mornings report in the Herald incorrectly states that today is locker clean out for grades 7 thru 11. Those days are scheduled for next week as per my letter from yesterday.

A Message From Mr. Volek... Sharon Danceline, Flagline and Majorette clinic has been scheduled for July 13-15 with the audition being on the 16th. We will run this as we normally would; 3 days of 2 hour sessions leading up to auditions on Thursday times TBA. If the school is still closed, we will postpone these auditions until the school has reopened. Please note that we will be following all required social distancing requirements that are in place at the time of the auditions. If a student has a previous commitment that would cause them to miss the entire 4 days of clinic then we will allow them to submit a video as their audition. Students will need to sign up to be part of the audition via google form. Which is linked here: https://forms.gle/7MmwufTWSeZfHTmq7 Registration for auditions will end on Friday June 5th. Thank you all for your patience as we ironed out this process. In closing let me make specifically clear that if school has not reopened to the public we will NOT be holding auditions in July. Please be reminded that Kindergarten Registration for the 2020-21 school year is being held Wednesday thru Friday, May 20, 21 and 22 at the 3 elementary schools. Parents should register at the building that their child will be attending. Hours are daily from 9 am until 2 pm.

Good evening to the Sharon High Class of 2020. These are a few reminders you need to be aware of: Senior drop off for packets will be Thursday, May 21st from 8am until 3pm. A bin will be placed in the commons area for drop off. All packets must have your name on the outside of the envelope. Make sure that each assignment has your name and the teachers name so we can get it to the correct teacher for grading. Once you drop your packets you will proceed to clean out your locker. All students must wear gloves and masks. Both will be provided unless you prefer to use your own. If necessary, we may limit building access to comply with current social distancing regulations. Upon leaving with your materials you will also be provided with your caps, gowns and honor cords for graduation. Instructions regarding our plans for graduation will be provided shortly. Other items you may have at home or in your locker can be returned to your teachers at this time. Textbooks and materials should be left outside of the teachers classroom. Your name should be on the returned items so the teacher knows who returned it. Thank you.

Attention All SHS Seniors: PACKET COLLECTION: The 3rd and final round of packets will be due for SENIORS ONLY on May 21, 2020 at the M/HS from 8:00-4:00 PM. Bins will be in the vestibule for drop off. If you are utilizing Google Classroom, please make sure that all assignments are posted to teachers classrooms by this date and by 4:00 PM. The collection date for the 3rd round of packets for students in grades 7-11 will be finalized soon. Spreading some Sharon Tiger Good News... Congratulations to Senior Noah Weese who participated in a nationwide virtual javelin meet and came in FIRST PLACE with a throw of 205' 11.5" which is almost 20 feet farther than the school record he set last year at the PIAA State Track and Field meet. Last year, Noah was the D10 AA Champion in Javelin and won a 2nd place medal at states. Congratulations Noah!
